Live OEE Measurement
Plant floor real / time visual display of live OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) data leads to faster feedback on machine performance and improved efficiencies. This metric provides information on how your machines / manufacturing lines are performing at any given time. By using the Pragma On Key tool, information relating to what the losses are, where the losses are and what is causing them is also provided in real-time. On Key is designed to work with off the shelf hardware and software thus making it highly adaptable for most applications across the wider industry. On Key's SQL database continuously and non-intrusively polls the production control environment via an OPC server application. The information stores both machine and human production related data for subsequent analysis and retrieval.
OEE is a simple and understandable tool for improvement activities and is calculated by measuring three variables:
Equipment Availability
Performance Rate
Quality Rate
Effectively this calculation is asking is my machine up or down (as a function of scheduled uptime), how much am I producing (as a function of expected throughput), and how much "good" product am I making (as opposed to waste or scrapped product).
Hidden capacity in manufacturing processes can be unearthed and taken advantage of to increase the bottom line. By leveraging the Lotus Automation Asset Management Division's data analysis capability and experience, improvements can be driven from the data captured by On Key. Lotus Automation Asset Management Division's engineers and analysts will continuously examine the performance of the processes being measured and generate key performance indicator (KPI) reports week on week, month on month and recommendations on where improvements can be made.
