About Us
Founded in 2008 Lotus Energy Limited specializes in the development of renewable energy assets in North America. We are a full service developer of wind, geothermal, solar and biomass energy projects. Our development activites are the evolution of our energy related Construction Management and Operation Maintenance which since 2006 as participated in projects that have added over 2000 MW’s of power to the US grid.
Lotus Energy Management Team
> Steven Ostrowski
Steven Ostrowski is President of LotusCM, the construction management division of LotusWorks. Mr. Ostrowski has spent has 35+ years in the construction and engineering business with a significant majority of those years spent in the construction of energy and power producing facilities. Included in Mr. Ostrowski's direct experience are nuclear, coal, gas, oil and renewable projects worth more than $2 billion.
Mr. Ostrowski's renewable energy experience includes both wind and geo-thermal applications and he is currently directly involved in the development of more than 400 MW of renewable power. Mr. Ostrowski's previous experience also includes service as vice president of JH Kelly, President of Kelly Electric and as Western and Mid-Western Regional General Manager of Johnson Yokogawa, a joint venture between Johnson Controls and Yokogawa of America. Mr. Ostrowski holds a BS degree in Business Management and is a licensed Electrical General Administrator in the State of Washington.
> Bob Young
Bob Young is a qualified and experienced power engineer. He is the VP of Operations for LotusCM, and provides operation and maintenance services to energy sector industries. Bob Young has completed construction management for projects up to $360 million dollars. He has been plant manager and general manager of power plants in the US and has completed power plant start-up activities for several plants.
Bob has been responsible for leading and directing the Construction Management and Performance Improvement Services division within LotusCM and has established internal controls and project controls, enhancing divisional and project specific financial and reporting structures for the organization. He has also completed a four-unit gas turbine construction project as site manager and owners’ representative. He is currently construction manager/director for a $260 million coal-fired project. He is also providing the asset management oversight to a 205 MW wind farm. He is responsible to the owner for the operation and maintenance success of this wind farm.
Over the last 4 years, Mr. Young has provided construction management expertise for over 600 MW of new wind power construction in the Pacific Northwest. Included in this experience is his role as the overall project manager for White Creek 1, a 205 MW wind farm near Roosevelt, Washington. This project was completed early and under budget, and provided a strong revenue stream for the owners immediately following its handover for commercial operations. Bob has applied his experience in power plant operations, maintenance, start-up, and construction to the projects he has worked on and which he continues to support as part of the LotusCM team.
> Fergal Broder
Fergal Broder is CEO and founder of Lotus. Fergal has fostered close relationships with manufacturing and process client companies and knows a great deal about their corporate cultures and needs. This knowledge and experience of a wide range of sectors has enabled the company to continually grow and meet the specific requirements of these companies. Fergal chairs the North West group of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ireland. The American Chamber of Commerce is the representative body for U.S. companies based in Ireland at both Government and industry level, and with the Irish and international media. Fergal Broder was one of the finalists in the 2006 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
> Declan Walsh
Declan Walsh is a qualified chartered accountant and Group Finance Director and Company Secretary at Lotus. During his time with the company, Declan has been responsible for leading and directing the finance team within the company and has established internal controls and software systems enhancing financial and reporting structures for the organisation. Declan is one of the four members of the Strategic Management Committee. He has been actively involved in the groups' acquisition strategy and is now responsible for the funding and corporate governance of its strategic growth initiatives. Declan will continue to be responsible for corporate and operational finance, accounting and financial operations, treasury, taxation, mergers and acquisitions, internal audits and risk management for the organisation. He has gained substantial international industry experience having worked previously in the engineering and retail sectors in the USA, the UK and Russia. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
> Tom Cafferkey
Tom Cafferkey has spent 18 years working in the instrumentation and controls arena and is currently serving as enterprise wide Business Development Officer with Lotus, providing strategic direction to the network of Irish and US based Lotus companies. Before joining Lotus, he served as calibration manager with the US multinational, International Medical Electronic Devices, from 1990 to 1995. In 2000, after a three-year secondment to Intel Corporation as an instrumentation and controls subject matter expert, he refocused his efforts on business development, opening Lotus’ first US office, in Boston, Massachusetts, which achieved sales of €1M in its first year of operations. Tom became a shareholder in Lotus in 2003 and increased his shareholding in 2005.
