Why an Instrumentation Apprenticeship?
This Apprenticeship will lead to a career in instrumentation which involves working with the setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of temperature, pressure, flow, humidity level, density, viscosity instrumentation, pH and conductivity analysers and control valves within a variety of manufacturing and other industries.
How long is the Instrumentation Apprenticeship?
The instrumentation Apprenticeship is a paid 4 year programme. If you have a previous qualification or time served in a relevant area, the duration of your apprenticeship may be shortened. You will need to provide evidence of this and approval is solely at the discretion of Solas/ETB and not LotusWorks.
What does the Instrumentation Apprenticeship involve?
The 4 years of the Apprenticeship are split into 7 phases. These include 4 phases of on-the-job training with LotusWorks and 3 phases of off the job training provided through Solas/Education and Training Board (ETB). During each phase of off the job training you learn different aspects of Instrumentation which you then put into practice during your on the job training with LotusWorks. Throughout the apprenticeship you will learn new skills while rotating through various sites.

What qualifications do I need to apply?
To be eligible for our Instrumentation Apprenticeship Programme you will need a pass Leaving Certificate with a minimum O5 grade (or Ordinary C3 in previous grading system) in Mathematics and completion of one of Physics, Chemistry or Engineering in the Leaving Certificate would be preferred.
What Qualification will I receive after completing the Apprenticeship?
Upon successful completion of the Instrumentation Apprenticeship you will attain a National Craft Certificate in Instrumentation which is at Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
When does the Instrumentation Apprenticeship Start?
The LotusWorks Apprenticeship programme is scheduled to start in 2021 TBC
Where will the Apprenticeship be based?
As an Instrumentation Apprentice with LotusWorks you will be required to work in multiple locations around Ireland. This allows the Apprentice to gain valuable experience in industries including; Biopharmaceutical, Medical Device, Semi-Conductor and our Laboratory based in Sligo.
